*Left where they fell because at that altitude under those conditions nobody can help you or move your body if you're unable to do it yourself. Such a harsh truth but accepted by all those who choose to undertake the journey. I'd like to go but I am not in good enough physical condition to do very well plus I have claustrophobia and severe fear of falling and my presence on the ropes would be a hindrance to others even if I were totally on my own. The question comes down to who should make the climb and who should benefit themself and others by choosing not to.
