***"Diplomat rips Tillerson, Trump administration in resignation letter""With each passing day, however, this task grows more futile, driving the Department's experienced and talented staff away in ever greater numbers," Shackelford added.
***This is the scariest part of this current administration, people that may actually know what they're doing can not deal with the Donald anymore and are resigning. I read another article that there will be a mass exodus after the 1st of the year. Trump hasn't even begun to fill all the necessary positions and the ones he has filled have been wholly unqualified: "Trump science job nominees missing advanced science degrees"
***I can't blame anyone for quitting and telling the Donald to go fuck himself, but that will leave important positions open for more retards that will simply acquiesce to the will of the Donald and then we may quickly run the route of the Third Reich. I have to trust that our checks and balances can prevent this, but partisan politics seem to be failing us. A vote and an agenda is more important than anything else. Trump wants to be a dictator or a king, and he will drive every single person that opposes him out of government. If he gets enough people in the proper positions of power, then there is nothing to stop him. Please, can we learn from history and stop this?
***Hopefully the task isn't futile. Hopefully there are enough people left willing to press the right issues and not let this administration turn back the clock 50-100 years. While we focus on idiotic tweets, the Keystone pipeline failed and 210,000 gallons of oil spilled in South Dakota, a couple million acres of protected lands were stripped away and many other environmental protections are being rolled back in favor of corporate profits. The supposed tax reform will result in an increased deficit and little to no benefit to the average joe, meanwhile corporations and their executives will reap yuuuuge benefits. The lemmings will follow the Donald right off the cliff because he's not politically correct and speaks like they do....
**It would be nice to see a Senate win for Jones on Tuesday. I'm not ruling it out.
**The country is being run like a clown show right now and the shortest term solution is to help the legislative branch reel in the executive branch.
**The longer term solution is to pick better Presidential candidates next time...but that's still a few years away.
*I have no faith that there will be better alternatives in the near future. Who do you see for 2020? We are definitely on a downward trajectory and self-service seems to be the main goal of all politicians. Trump is trying to make good on his campaign promises, which would be a good thing if they were campaign promises that the majority actually voted for, but he's catering to his extremist core. It floors me that he actually touts an approval rating of 45% as a win. Everything this administration is doing is simply reversing policies of the previous administration. That is by definition regression. The clown show must end, and I hope the orange clown steps down soon.
I'm hopeful with the Clintons out of the picture, some better Democrats can take over. They've been dragging down the party for 20 years.
