*1960 - The Beatles perform at the Kaiserkeller Club, Grosse Freiheit, Hamburg, West Germany.
*1961 - The Beatles perform at the Cavern Club - a lunchtime show.
*1962 - The Beatles perform at the Star-Club, Hamburg, West Germany.
*1963 - The Beatles tape a short television interview at Westward Television Studios in Plymouth, Devonshire, for a local teen program "Move Over, Dad". Broadcast on November 16. Due to a large crowd of excited fans outside, The Beatles had to be smuggled from their dressing-room at the ABC Cinema, where they were scheduled to appear that night, into an adjacent building, then through a tunnel, to get to Westward Studios for the interview taping.
*1963 - The Beatles perform two shows at the ABC Cinema in Plymouth, Devonshire.
*1968 - US premiere of the movie "Yellow Submarine", in New York.
*1969 - A group of hippies travel to Ireland to take a look around a small uninhabited island, Dornish, which is located off the coast of County Mayo. John Lennon, who bought the island in 1966 for 1,500 pounds, is offering the island to them to live on rent-free.
*1969 - Release in Sweden of Beatles single "Something/Come Together" (Apple). Five weeks in the Swedish charts; highest position #4.
*2000 - Release of The Beatles' compilation album "1" in the US (Capitol/Apple) and the UK (EMI/Apple). Songs: "Love Me Do", "From Me to You", "She Loves You", "I Want to Hold Your Hand", "Can't Buy Me Love", "A Hard Day's Night", "I Feel Fine", "Eight Days a Week", "Ticket to Ride", "Help!", "Yesterday", "Day Tripper", "We Can Work it Out", "Paperback Writer", "Yellow Submarine", "Eleanor Rigby", "Penny Lane", "All You Need is Love", "Hello Goodbye", "Lady Madonna", "Hey Jude", "Get Back", "The Ballad of John and Yoko", "Something", "Come Together", "Let it Be", and "The Long and Winding Road". Although this is the official release date worldwide, the album is reported to have been on sale early in several locations. The album consists of songs whose original single releases reached number one on the charts in the US and/or the UK. Highest chart position in the US, the UK, and other countries: #1.
*2000 - Opening of the first official Beatles website, www.thebeatles.com, which offers a stunning array of multimedia pages and activities related to the 27 songs appearing on the Beatles' compilation album, "1", released worldwide this day. The web site utilizes up-to-date web technology to offer a wonderful look at The Beatles and their music.
