**A whole cottage industry has evolved by well-meaning rock historians seeking to preserve the minute by minute accounting of the Beatles lives, in and out of the recording studio and performing stages.
**And I ask, is any of it really relevant to anything?
**I think if you were to ask the late msrs. Lennon and Harrison, or for that matter McCartney and Starkey, they would laugh at the absurdity of the whole enterprise.
**Mark Lewinson is them most glaring example of this idol worshiping, but there are others, in and out of print.
**It reminds me of when George Costanza explains the while concept of the Seinfeld show to some NBC excutives, including the president of the network, Russel Dalrymple. When asked, reasonably, the concept of the show,he states his vision as 'nothing!'
**When asked to expound on this, George describes a typical show as a day in their life doing normal daily routines. Upon hearing this Russel sneers that it is 'not yet' on the network. I don't remember the exact dialogue but most of you have seen that episode.
**And so my personal opinion is that most of the recounting of their lives is pointless. In the long run noone will care about any of it.
**And believe me folks, having grown up in that era, there was a lot more important stuff going on then even the music of this group. In the grand scheme of things they are a mere blip on the radar of history, and eventually will fade away. I am sorry to point that out but it is inevitable.
**I am expecting the usual tirade of outrage at how why I am posting on this web site, that I hate the Beatles, yada yada. And quite frankly I care less. I just wish that people would look at their music as a by product of their times, from stealing music from other more famous recording artists preceding them, to their roles as pioneers of a more artistic pop/rock, guided of course by George Martin, without whom most of it would never have been nurtured or happened. The minute recounting of each day of that period is totally meaningless.
*Yeah, well, that just, like, your opinion, man.
Correcting typing error:

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
