US Albums That Were Better

Posted by **Beatles Fan Robert** on Oct 15, 2017 at 9:51:48 AM:

Just my opinion, mind you.

I like two of the US albums that better their Brit counterparts.

They are:

Beates '65 vs. Beatles for Sale
US Rubber Soul vs. Brit Rubber Soul.

Too many nuances to mention here, but Rubber Soul is the prime example.

Capitol lopped off Drive My Car and Nowhere Man.

The new first track first appeared on Help! - I've Just Seen a Face.

I can't imagine a better lead off to a very folksey album.

Whereas Drive was a more rocker, it always seemed grafted on to me, since Norwegian Wood, Michelle, etc. more or else de-emphasized the electric sound previous to this album and brought the acoustic guitar to the forefront. Nowhere is a great song but of course I was used to it appearing on Yesterday & Today, which was a purely American invention, and great album the very controversial butcher album cover.

'65 has nary a clunker, unless you cite Moonlight, which is pretty much a laughable filler interlude. Sale had far more covers.
