*****I agree. I've held off from saying anything because I know I'll be skewered for it. People lost everything. People died. People's lives are in ruins.
*****
*****But for the ones here who were able to party through it and weren't totally devastated are ok with saying "it's all MSM hype. No big deal."
*****
*****Reminds me of the right-wing playbook motto "I got mine so screw you." No empathy whatsoever. It's disturbing that this is what we've come to as a country.
*****
*****On a side note Mexico has withdrawn its pledge of help after our illustrious leader has failed to acknowledge or send a message of support after their tragic earthquake. This is how we look to the rest of the world now. "Screw you. We're 'muricans! 'Murica first!"

****
****Do you think any of those casualties may have been caused due to inaccurate media reporting?
****
***
***what an incredibly ignorant comment
**
**
**
**It's NOT ignorant at all. It's a perfectly legitimate question
**which you apparently can't honestly answer.
**
**Creating panic and sensationalism is the media's game and you are ignorant if you think that there weren't any accidents or casualties as a result of the panic that ensued over the media's
**erroneous reporting.
**
**Irresponsible journalism is rampant in this country and elsewhere
**MSM outlets for the most part are no better than supermarket tabloids now. It's all about where they can find sensationalism and if they can't find it, they create sensationalism.
**
**Even our soldiers overseas have suffered casualties because
**of irresponsible reporting.

*"Gov. Scott Warns Anyone in Irma Evacuation Zone: 'You've Got to Get Out Now'"
*
*Was Fox News irresponsible for reporting the direct words of the Governor of the state? Was every news outlet irresponsible for reporting the same?
*
*Why do you blame the media here? Why not blame NOAA? Why not blame the Republican governor for following the NOAA?
*
*Please explain the 'erroneous reporting' you think happened here and show me just one single example of a casualty caused by it.

The media has many times reports something prematurely or breaks news on something long before the facts are actually known.
It's what drives the sensationalist media to be the first to get
whatever they say out there. I recall an incident relating to the race riots in Baltimore and just a day or two after those riots
Sheppard Smith of Fox News was reporting that another unarmed black man had just been shot by a police officer. Immediately people began falling out into the street anticipating another riot and within a short period of time it was learned that the black man in question had a gun, had dropped it on the sidewalk and it discharged, and police took him into custody. Sheppard Smith suddenly realizing his error apologized for giving out information that was false and could have led to more widespread violence or destruction. Just yesterday is another example wrt to Tom Petty's demise..immediately there were media outlets saying he had already died when in fact he was still on life support
and didn't actually pass on until later last evening.
How many people in Florida felt the news was over estimating and
making people more paranoid? I'll let you figure that one out.
Here's a hint: talk to some people who were actually there at the time and endured it. Don't put your faith in "experts" there are none.
