Lennon / McCartney Compositions

Posted by **Beatles Fan Robert** on Sep 19, 2017 at 11:20:33 AM:

It is common knowledge that over the years, vs. the very early years, they collaborated less with one other most of the time - instead John may have had a snippet in one track (Getting Better), Paul in another (Day in the Life). Two of Us, toward the very end, was truly a flash back to the early days, with wonderful harmonizing akin to the Everly Brothers.

But it does beg the question, did they push each other to heights they might not have otherwise achieved?

Paul ran by Hey Jude to John, not sure if he should change anything, John encouraging him to leave it just as it was.

But what about the others?

Would Paul every have come up with a Yesterday or Let It Be, John Across the Universe or Strawberry Fields?

Nothing they did as solo artists could come close to the cream of the crop of the Beatles.

Just wondering.
