**The Ballad of John and Yoko / Old Brown Shoe
**I often say if you want to study how to construct a song you should study the Ballad of John and Yoko. It is simply a masterpiece.
**Listen how John and Paul build the song by adding instruments and harmony - it is simply staggering/genius. You'd almost think the tempo was faster as the song progressed but it's all about how John and Paul built the song.
**I just love it - no harmony, harmony on the end of a word, on the word and then the phrase to the whole line - beautiful
**the song just builds - somewhat like Don't Let Me Down
**As for Old Brown Shoe - it is one of my favourites - highly under-rated
**Gary Brooker - Old Brown Shoe - Concert for George Harrison
**and the song itself by The Twotles
**Ballad of J&Y cover
*Nowhere Man
*Love the guitars
*Love the Harmonies
*probably in my top 5
The flip (B)side was What Goes On sung in his typical off key baritone.

It can be found on Rubber Soul, where it is the sixth track.

"Starr contributed to the lyrics, his first-ever composing credit on a Beatles song. However, when asked what his contribution was to the song, Starr jokingly stated, "About five words, and I haven't done a thing since."[3] To his chagrin, the first pressing of the single accidentally omitted "Starkey" in the song-writing credit."
