*****You Call My Name, a goon show satire that goes on and on and on and on and...

****Oops - that should read You Know My Name.

*** Wasn't this recorded around 67 but not released until about 1970? I do like this better than say Revolution #9 but it's still basically them goofing off in the studio.
***
*** Paul supposedly said one time this was one of his favorite Beatle songs. I hope he was either kidding or really stoned.:)

**It is the B side to Let It Be, which is the way I discovered it. It baffled me then, and I despise it to date. I believe they had in mind the Goon Show when they recorded it, a show they very much liked.
*I don't think any of their b sides wefe "weak". They gave us nothing but quality. As far as You Know Mt Name, of coursr it was done for a laugh. Theu gtarted iy in May 67 & 2 years later John dug out the rape & finished it with Paul. I love that song!

I like it too, but I do believe that at the time they never anticipated releasing it on a single or album. It is just by then the well had dried out, and so I am guessing their producer at t he time (was it Allen Klein) needed something. A novelty song, no better, no worse, then some other outtakes that you can hear on the Anthology albums. I don't think Brian would have allowed for it. The singles up and until Hey Jude had first rate B sides. In fact, Come Together/Something was one of if not the best.
