******what would be the big deal if the National Parks were permanently shuttered anyway?
******
******taken away from Federal control?
******
******why not simply turn them over the states that they are in to administer?
******
******the Feds could allocate the money that was in the budget to run that particular park for the 1st year & give it to the host state - after that it would be up to the state to decide how & if it should be funded with any proceeds coming from tourism going back to the state
******
******perhaps giving the state some sort of ongoing partial & time limited tax credit to help with the funding
******
******after all - isn't the Federal government's job to oversee & protect the nation as a whole (the common good/external threats) rather than overseeing acreage that resides within an individual state's boundaries?
******
******let the states determine the best way to handle & administer them in a way that's best for the state
******
******how did the Feds become "the groundskeepers" with the rest of the nation funding their operations for areas of land that reside within a given state & who benefit from the land being where it is?
******
******just a thought...........

*****I've seen what happens when the state takes over control of previously federal government controlled land or buildings. They turn it into business districts or build more condos and try to turn the land or buildings into money making deals. Greed takes over particularly in states like Illinois. Areas formerly controlled by the federal government or under the auspices of the army corps of engineers have become wastelands, unkempt and totally useless pieces of land waiting for someone to come along and turn it into something else. When my late wife and I went camping we always sought out land or places controlled by the federal government instead of places ran by the state. They were in much better shape and better taken care of than those places controlled by the state.
*****
*****Just my opinion, but I think what is controlled by the federal government should remain controlled by the federal government wrt national parks and museums.

****I agree. I also like to think that the parks are truly national not state resources. The Grand Canyon should belong to the whole country, not just Arizona...for instance.

***except 'they' don't care what you think which is why our rogue govt let the UN take control of most of these places and relinquished our sovereignty in relation to them

***its all about agenda 21

**Article 6 of the World Heritage Convention:
**Whilst fully respecting the sovereignty of the States on whose territory the cultural and natural heritage mentioned in Articles 1 and 2 is situated, and without prejudice to property right provided by national legislation, the States Parties to this Convention recognize that such heritage constitutes a world heritage for whose protection it is the duty of the international community as a whole to co-operate.
**
**Hmmm, "Whilst fully respecting the sovereignty". Show me how 'THEY' have taken control. Here's the list of properties in the US, show me which one is under UN control.
**
**And then you can show what part of Agenda 21 is a binding agreement.

*There's an area of Tel Aviv that was built almost entirely during the height of Bauhaus architecture, and is a World Heritage Site by virtue of being the best-preserved example of that style. The thousands of people who live and work in those buildings, I imagine, would be very surprised to hear that the UN has anything to do with their daily lives.
Those people, being mostly Israelis, must be in on the conspiracy, whatever it is.
