**The Beatles' Cavern Club to be sold off
**Sept. 23, 2013, 6:52 AM EST
**
**
**The venue where the Beatles launched their career is to be sold at auction next month.
**
**The musicians were regulars at the Cavern Club in their native Liverpool, England, in the early 1960s before they were spotted there by manager Brian Epstein, and they honed their live performance skills at the venue prior to landing their big break.
**
**The famous music venue is now set to hit the auction block after the company that owns it went into administration last month. Britain's The Times reports the club will be sold off along with the shopping center which surrounds it and is expected to fetch around $1.5 million.
**
**The original building was demolished in the 1970s, but the venue eventually reopened after it was rebuilt using bricks saved from the site. The Cavern Club has also hosted performances from other famous acts over the years including the Rolling Stones, the Who and Sir Elton John.
**
**
**Maybe whoever buys it at auction will understand it's historical significance and perhaps try to preserve it hopefully (even though it's not the original). If they decide to tear it down then auction off the original bricks?

*I say get rid of it- it wasn't on the same spot anyway, the real cavern is now a parking lot, it was a phony Cavern anyway, sell the bricks, whatever, but they were fleecing fans for something that was fake anyway

It is that way, for sure.

I don't know why the original was demolished. IN America, sure, things are demolished all the time that I loved going to as a kid. We're "almost" used that sort of neglected, non-traditional sort of thing. BUT, in the Old Country? To do that sort of thing to the biggest act of any kind to ever come out of there?!

Nothing that anyone thinks Yoko did to The Beatles compares to what "they" did in the 70's, demolishing such a historic landmark. It was not just about music. The Beatles were about beginnings in tough times, and scrapping their way to where Johnny? "To the Poppermost............Top"!

Dammit! Can't stand business people who have NO care for THINGS many people in area, and the world, care about!

This Cavern? Like a wax figure on the Atlantic City boardwalk; Not even close to the Real Thing! Fake, lacking everything an original brings to the turntable.

Pays me no never mind! I'm still stewed over the original not being in existence.
