******************Funny and on target as usual.. Jon is great.
******************
*****************
*****************You're a Jon Stewart fan?
****************
****************
****************
****************Yes I am. Why do you ask? Does that bother you?
****************
****************
***************
***************
***************
***************
*************** Perhaps she's startled to discover that you don't have the same opinion of Stewart that some right-of center people do...
***************
***************
***************
***************
***************
***************
**************
**************
**************That's what she gets for assuming.
**************
*************
*************Who's really making assumptions here?
************
************
************
************
************Apparently YOU were. I'm sure there was some sort of motivation behind your questioning me about it. But that's ok.
************
************
************
***********
***********"apparently"? says who? I ask YOU a question and two others feel the need to leap in and turn it into the inquisition while you sit idly by and do nothing until all your reinforcements have arrived
***********
***********are you "sure" about hippie's question in response? what was the motivation there?
***********
***********and I'm the one making assumptions
***********
***********and I'm the one being called defensive
***********
***********now THAT is laughable
**********
**********
**********
**********
********** Oh get real... Why would you ask "You're a Jon Stewart fan?" if it didn't come as some surprise to you?....Would you ask that of posters on the board you believe to be liberals? I highly doubt it... It wouldn't be the least bit shocking to you that they were Stewart fans...
**********
**********
**********Who are you kidding?
**********
**********
**********
**********
*********
*********Not trying to kid anyone. When Winston answered "yes" I was prepared to express my surprise and also commend him because - yeah - Stewart is widely seen as a "liberal" commentator. It shows open-mindedness and that's to be endorsed. I don't think it's necessarily true that Stewart is just for liberals but it IS true that most people I know who like him are left leaning.
*********
*********So how diabolical was all that? Can you admit you made ASSUMPTIONS and jumped to CONCLUSIONS? And that dipshit's question was just as suspect even though you chose to IGNORE that? And you're the one preaching about fairness across the board - phhhht
********
********
********
********
******** Who said it was diabolical?
********
********
********I said perhaps in my psot... Meaning I offered a possible reason why you would seem surprised..
********
********
********And now you basically have confirmed that my speculation was on target...
*******
*******So? I said I would be surprised and I am... however I'm not convinced.
******
******
******
****** So? I'm not the least bit surprised that you're unconvinced...
******
******
****** I could see your " So Jon Stewart's okay as long as he's slamming Obama" sign miles away..
******
*****
*****wow murray you're so smart... you got everybody's number don'tcha? problem is, everybody has yours too... hmmmmm
****
****
****
**** Do they now? Ms. "Who are you to speak for everyone?" now says everyone has my number? That's so cute... Muse be that infamous crystal ball which enables people to know more about me than I do... Nice of your role model to loan that precious item to you so you could share it with "everybody"...
****
****
****
***
***I don't have any role models here, that's for fucking sure. It would be a sad day if I picked anyone *here* to be my role model. Why do you feel it necessary to make such accusations? Why can't you just deal with the message and separate it from the messenger? I don't think you're capable. You fall back on that lame and diversionary argument when you know you have nothing else. It's quite telling. Let's deal with issues and leave the personalities behind, shall we?
***
***But that aside, let's assume you're right. That I was going to skewer Winston with the "you only like Jon Stewart when he's dissing Obama" jab.
***
***Do you honestly believe Winston when he says:
***
***"Funny and on target as usual.. Jon is great."
***
***If so, great. If that's the case, why couldn't he just have said "yeah, I'm a fan of Jon Stewart. I think he's spot on."
***
***But he didn't. It would have been so simple. By not answering the simple question he revealed a lot.
***
***That begs the question: why do you have so little faith in Winston that you feel you need to swoop in and attack someone for asking him a question? If you really thought Winston was capable you wouldn't even bother, would you? Is Winston a little child who needs to be defended? I think not. Apparently you think he does.
***
***You're such a hypocrite. Your allegiances are obvious and your standards that you apply to those you dislike are obviously ridiculous because you don't even practice them yourself.
***
***Have a happy Sunday!
***
***
**
**
**
**
**
**
**
**
***
*** First off, my choosing to enter into the discussion has nothing to do with lack of faith or any feeling that Winston is incapable of handling things...It's about me detecting something in the post which doesn't add up... Things being characterized wrongly or something which suggests a motive other than that which is seen on the surface...
**
**
**
**You talk of fairness and allegiances? I have not ever claimed to meet anyone's standards of fairness where Obama's concerned... I am right-of-center and have said that over and over again. How could I claim to be neutral after that? Would I naturally be inclined to agree with those who have problems with Obama's policies? Of course I would...Nobody's trying to hide that fact...
**
**
** I had problems with Bush and I have had differences with the Republican party always...Now more than ever...
**
**
** I am willing an able to criticize both parties when I feel it's warranted and I have proven that....
**
**
** You on the other have repeatedly left the impression that Obama could slap you upside the head with a 2 x 4 while stomping on your feet and all you'd say is "Great job on Obamacare, Mr. President."
**
*
*No I wasn't talking about political leanings. You know how you like to lecture people on "hey why didn't you call out so-and-so for saying this or that." You DO do that. But you ignore those who do the same if you agree with them.
*
*That's what I mean by fairness and allegiances. And it's a dangerous road to go down because then you're holding not only everyone else but also yourself to an impossible standard.
*

I don't think it's as impossible as you suggest...I think at least it's better to try than to throw your hands up and say "It's too high a standard so screw it."

It's very simple...If you know you've told someone you don't care for that they're a cunt and a twat, don't embarrass yourself by slamming someone else when they call someone you like a cunt and a twat...

For instance, I would never say something to someone who slams hippie j just because they slammed her...I've slammed her too..
But if I the midst of accusing her of things she did say, she is accused of saying things she didn't say, then that has to be addressed... Whether my overall view of her is favorable or unfavorable...

I don't believe in 'By Any Means Necessary'... it's got to be fact-based ...Can't excuse or ignore throwing stuff that's not solid...
