*they have all those things everywhere you go in this country
*and yes it is the same as NY according to the NY transplants here - down here, they even bring in the water and ingredients directly from NY
*
*VA is not much less expensive and not much safer than NY

that's where you are wrong - Virginia is infinitely cheaper to live in then NY

the house I bought was over $235,000 less then the same size house I was going to downsize to in NY
the taxes are $800 a year - the taxes on the house I was going to downsize to in NY were $8000 a year
gas is cheaper
pretty much everything else I priced out with the exception of food was also significantly cheaper then NY

Regarding my miss list:
their pizza sucks
their bagels suck
I drove the entire length of Route 13 (the main route) on the Delmarva Peninsula up & into Maryland & did not see a single car wash & I was looking as the car was filthy
I tried two Italian restaurants that the locals suggested & recommended as being excellent - they sucked. Well to be fair - none of them were from NY or NJ. I cook better Italian.

When talking to several transplanted New Yorkers & Jersey locals they had the same thing - pizza, bagels & Italian suck. They also lamented the lack of a good car wash. I was also told to learn to live without a dry cleaner.

Get out of the Bunker much these days?
