**LONDONóThe Beatles plan to release a new collection of the bandís BBC sessions, including commercially unreleased recordings and studio chatter.
**The CD and vinyl release of On Air Ė Live at the BBC Volume 2 is planned for Nov. 11 will be a follow-up to the wildly successful Live at the BBC album released in 1994.
**The new compilation comes from BBC radio broadcasts in 1963 and 1964, when the band was making dozens of appearances in BBC studios. It will feature 37 previously unreleased performances.
**Most of the recordings have a live feel and capture the Beatles in a relaxed, informal setting. In addition to early Lennon-McCartney compositions, they play a number of Chuck Berry songs and other works by rock pioneers.
**The new release will include different versions of some of the songs from the first Live at the BBC album.

*That's a lot material from the last release. I know they are different but the presser made it out like we would hear some early early Len Mac compositions like the songs they gave away or the early early stuff. It seems like scraping the bottom of the barrel when there is other stuff they could be releasing such as let it be on blu ray or carnival of light or some rare let it be sessions. I've got tons of boots from let it be sessions. If they cleaned them up and released a 3 or 4 disc set they could make a mint.
You're right in that there are quite a number of songs that were on the first BBC album. They are supposedly different performances of the songs though. I guess by the mid 60s the Beatles were done in terms of giving live performances on the BBC. But most Beatles junkies(like myself) are still likely to give in and get it. It might be a tougher sell with the more casual Beatle fan.
I still think Let it Be hasn't seen an official DVD/Blu Ray release yet is because at least either Paul, Ringo, or the estate of John, or George doesn't want it out there because it is essentially the document of The Beatles falling apart. But it is already over forty years ago and the break up happened so they should get over it if it's some type of protecting The Beatles image thing.
And in terms of rare/unreleased material many feel there is still enough out there for Apple to put out a fourth Anthology album if they really wanted to.
