All this deal is really doing is buying more time for Assad in the end. The swiftness of this agreement between Russia (their strong ally) and the US has put them against a wall because we only gave them 7 days to account for all the chemical weapons and Assad wanted 30 days (probably so he's got time to hide some of them if he hasn't already). And with the civil war still raging, getting them to accurately give accounting of the weapons and getting them surrendered and subsequently destroyed, will take months to years. In the meantime Assad will do what Saddam did..play hide and seek or try to manipulate the deal..
just as long as he puts out just enough to keep the missiles from being inbound, he will continue to do what he can to stall.
And can we really trust Russia too? film at 11.
