*Low levels of healthy gut bacteria could be the cause of mental health issues such as 'anxiety and schizophrenia'
*
*The average adult carries up to five pounds of bacteria
*Healthy bacteria are known as probiotics, commonly found in yogurt, soy yogurt or as dietary supplements
*
*Probiotics are also delivered in fecal transplants, in which stool from a healthy donor is delivered like a suppository to an infected patient

It might not have made it to this years medical digest, but it may the next one, with more studies being done to try to confirm the ones before that hint on being conclusive.
BUT, I would caution against any Soy products. One of those good in some ways/not good in others type of food. Besides the known specific issues with soy, it has also been shown to cause general inflammation, which is the number one no-no for anybody, in any part of their body. The main reason we feel terrible at times, no matter what the cause, it's inflammation that is the result of what we feel. Heart vessels, brain vessels, ALL vessels! Same with organs and bones. "Inflammation" IS being "sick". Soy causes that to a certain degree, depending on several factors of course. MSM counters inflammation, and helps to prevent it!
A good, although synthetic sulfate of sorts, MSM can be taken in 3000 to 8000 mg/a day. Each capsule being 1000mg, (as is the one I like to take). (One capsule, 3 to 4 times a day for me. A good, general anti-inflammatory. The last places to feel the effects will be in the spine, where there is little blood flow. But over time, little by little, it does work there too. Just later than sooner. :)
MSM also helps the stomach in most people, and most of what goes on there, bacteria "maybe" included. ???? Just my wild guess about the bacteria factor. I don't know of those studies, if there have been any.
NO soy is my advice. Or, VERY little and far between, like brussel spouts! Yuck!Followup Messages:
