Bookin' It

Posted by **murray** on Sep 6, 2013 at 9:49:30 PM:

Well, we didn't make it to the Fall Library Sale at opening time...We arrived three hours later after the dealers had the run of the place ... But it's far less claustrophobic three hours later......... No "Wow!" items in the DVD or CD departments this time around...Just a few gamble picks...

Even though the load of books we toted home was far lighter than with sales past, there were some goodies found...

A big fat book on Surrealist painters...

A slimmer book on Pop Art..

The Effects Of Knut Hamsun On A Fresno Boy by Gary Soto

These essays often bring Richard Brautigan to mind.. I decided to start here...

The Art Of Literary Mayhem: A Lively Account Of Famous Writers And Their Feuds by Myrick Land

Bird By Bird:Some Instructions On Writing And Life by Anne Lamott

Wild Dreams Of A New Beginning by Lawrence Ferlinghetti

The Black Dahlia Files by Donald H. Wolfe

In The Manner Of Haiku: Seven Aspects Of Man by Adam Gillon

Bios of Ava Gardner, Bette Davis, and James Garner....

Cool thing is that they're putting out some new stuff every day of the week-long sale so who knows what may be there when we go back next time...
