Or so suggests Chris Matthews. On 'Morning Joe', he offered the following:
I think the Democrats are going to be forced to sacrifice men and women who really really don't want to vote for this. They're going to have to vote for it to save the President's hide. That's a bad position to put your party in.
Now hold on, Chrissy. Forced? Have to?
No, There's another option. Demonstrate that some things have a higher place on the scale than loyalty to Obama or to the Democratic party.
There is no force other than what you allow to be forced upon you.
