*Have you read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver? Has to do with a family's efforts at eating locally and seasonally. Very interesting. I have read somewhere that when you go to the grocery store not to buy anything your great grandmother would not recognize as food. This would probably eliminate two thirds of what is currently on the shelves!!
No havent read that Kieran, thanks for heads up, sounds interesting, were they successful?
That sounds like sage advice too re: food stuff shopping, trouble of course being that a lot of people have lost the skills to, for instance prepare anything from scratch.....most people couldn't survive I'll bet without microwave...
ah well, we can only do our best, and disseminate info as we come across it and think it would be useful to pass on to others.....
