**Obama says any response to chemical attacks in Syria would be a "shot across the bow" and not an open-ended conflict like Iraq. He says we must send Assad a message in the interests of the region's security as well as out own. He has to be given a message not to do such things again.

**Okay. Where's the message to the rebels in response to the slaughter Christian men, women, and children? Any second thoughts about supplying arms to those who behead priests and proudly life their severed heads up for all the world to see?

*Listen, bub - after the last decade's military adventures we're in very short supply of this "moral authority". That ship sailed totally when we used a transparent pack of lies to militarily attack a country that did not attack us, and then that ship sank when we tortured prisoners and no one ever got punished for it.

*Initiating any bombing campaign is the last...I repeat, the last....way of regaining any "moral authority" the US might have ever had.
Too bad you don't check around a bit before you make up your mind as to someone's position on Syria and response to the chemical attacks in particular...
I have stated very clearly that we should not be supporting either side in this battle... I called the idea of sending arms to the rebels who to be insanity... The people who want no part of either gang and want to determine their own future? Now they deserve some support...
At the very least, Obama could be half as vocally forceful on rebel atrocities as he has been with his statements on Assad over the past couple of years.
