Is it possible for you to get a certified house inspector to go over everything in fine detail? (Electrical, plumbing, roofing, foundation, etc). Could provide things needed to be taken care of, to then factor into your offer. Better to do that now, then to find out serious issues after buying it. Just looking at those things is not going to reveal hidden damage, as I found out the hard way, despite us trying to look for issues in a past house we bought.
