Yep, and the costs of drugs, and simple procedures such as MRI's.

A quick one for my knee's torn MCL would have been around $2000.
I just nursed it back to some stable health myself, learning rehab techniques for the muscles around it. The operation would have been another 5,000. or so, with all the add on's.

So, in this case, I didn't support the high prices of the two actions, saving the insurance company and me some do ray me. And, I get around better than most 30 year olds! :) Running still, soccer with the grandkids, baseball, rollerblading whatever!

People seem to jump to having to get something done,(if insured, or in a social health country, which sends more people to the higher priced items, which the insurance companies have to keep pace with, or the taxes have to remain high or get higher. (England, for example). What is their tax rate now? If a person is working in a social health country, then they sure are paying a lot for their procedures, just at every pay check time, over and over. NOTHING is FREE. If free to someone, then someone else is paying for it.
