The Book Nook

Posted by **murray** on Aug 21, 2013 at 11:49:28 AM:

Well, our forever-in-progress attic book nook is about 52% percent books now...Still some boxes of flea market junk to be removed. Some bookshelves are organized and some are filled with a mishmash of genres...For instance, there is one bookshelf woth most of the heavy hitters: Tolstoy, Poe, Dusty Yevsky (intentional), Kafka, Emerson, Thoreau, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Wolfe, Steinbeck, and others... One shelf has books about film and movie star bios and autobios...One has works by and about C.S Lewis and his contemporaries and influences.. Tolkien, Sayers, Williams, Macdonald, and Chesterton reside here.. There is one shelf with books on writing and books about books.. There's a humor shelf...A sci-fi shelf largely populated by Ray Bradbury works... Jack Kerouac's got his own little section as does Richard Brautigan...Over to the right of the entrance there is a fat shelf with mysteries...Agatha Christie..., Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe, Ellery Queen, and so forth... Asian fiction writers get their own shelf as well...

The music books take up three tall shelves in our bedroom but we're about to run out of space for any more... The two shelves of poetry volumes are in the living room...

We love books, can you tell?... In a couple of weeks, I'll be toting some more home from the Fall Library Sale... Hope there is more to find in the performing arts section this time...

We will see...But the thought of going out empty-handed? They don't make days like that...

We';; see...
