***A middle-class couple go camping in Dorset, but peace and quiet elude them.

***(I didn't make this but by golly I wish I did)
***
***From IMDB:
***Their Morris packed to the gills, the punctilious Keith and the more spontaneous Candice-Marie arrive at a Dorset campground where they pay £10 in advance for ten nights. It's peaceful: they visit Corfe Castle, eat vegetarian food, and go in search of raw milk. Then a fellow with a loud radio pitches his tent near theirs: Keith is beside himself and it doesn't help when Candice-Marie decides to befriend the young man. Things get worse when a couple arrive on a motorcycle, make noisy love in their tent, and then start an illegal campfire. It's too much for Keith: he loses it. Will our middle-class couple find a bucolic corner, or are they doomed to brawl with the noisy and unwashed?
***Director: Mike Leigh
***Writer: Mike Leigh (deviser)
***Stars: Roger Sloman, Alison Steadman and Anthony O'Donnell

When I was living in "the Kingdom" for a short period of time (6/7 months) in the early '80's I was staying in Bournemouthin Dorset.
Which by the "In a 2007 survey by First Direct, Bournemouth was found to be the happiest place in the UK, with 82% of people questioned saying they were happy with their lives."
:)
Weekends were mine - so on many of them I'd hop in the auto & go "parading" through the gorgeous British countryside.
No destination in mind - just start driving & enjoying the scenery.
Never used a map on the "outbound" part of the journey. Definitely had to use in to get back though. Most of the time I had no real idea of where I'd end up & had to use it to find my way back.
Spent quite a few Sundays in Poole which nearby Bournemouth. Pleasant & scenic town for walking ("parading") around in. Especially if the weather was decent.
There was a bar/pub/restaurant where I'd like to stop into. Pull a few pints & grab something to eat. It was right on the water. Don't remember the name...
Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
What was I talking about again?
Right!
Corfe.
So.
On one of those weekend jaunts - not knowing where I was headed nor where I was (ended up a Royal Navy Base outside of Portsmouth once) - enjoying the sights - I came around a bend & saw this on the horizon.
"Neat!!"
I began steering toward it & that's when I found Corfe. Lovely little town nestled on/within the ruins walls. Spent the day & that night there.
You should make the attempt to visit. Very nice way to kill a Sunday.Followup Messages:
