** Hundreds of half century old Chevrolets and others will be auctioned off in September. Many of the vehicles have less than 10 miles on them...

*Got a friend over here who loves and owns quite a few American monsters, will pass this on.

*One thing tho'....and it certainly is a picky thing, don't think you can call anything an antique until it's 100 years old....I think classic car is more apt.
*
*When I grew up in Canada, my Dad's first car was a '58 Chevy, we also had an Impala at some point and my favourite was a Chrysler Newport.....my Mum used that and my Dad had a little English Hillman Imp as a run around.....we called it the put-put car and I hated being seen in it....dunno why, would love to have one now...

===I learned how to drive in a 1958 tutone silverblue and white Chevy Nomad 4 door station wagon. And my 2 year younger brother learned how to drive in a tutone medium blue and white 1958 chevy tudor sedan. ;)...lol. The wagon was an automatic and the sedan was a 3 speed on the tree (column shift). My brother later eventually worked his way up to being a service director for several years at a large local cadillac oldsmobile dealership.

Have done a share of professional driving over the years myself. I worked for a union outfit off and on when they were busy in the mid 70's. We made 4 times minimum wage and got to drive brand new general motors cars and trucks and pick-ups off of railcars and park them in a huge parking lot for later over the road delivery.

Have driven dozens of brand new vehicles of all types including all the sporty ones that GM built at the time. ;) :)

I miss them too...and it's great reminiscing about them.
