Dylan's Choices

I heard a track from The Dylan Bootleg Series Volume 10...It was gorgeous and of course I could not fathom how a track that sublime could stay in the vault that long..
Then I thought of a couple of other songs...'Series Of Dreams' and 'Blind Willie McTell' wound up being left off the albums for which they were recorded...They were replaced by lesser tracks...
This seems to be a pattern with Bob... When they did turn up n the first Bootleg Series package, both rejected songs were hailed by many as latter-day Dylan masterpieces...
But that track I heard from Volume 10 certainly was more deserving of a place on the 'Self=Portrait' album than quite a few of the tracks which did make it...
Makes one wonder what other mind-blowers are still in the vault...
I know there are tons of incredible live covers out there...Probably enough for a box set...
A live covers edition is my dream Bootleg Series volume...
and from the looks of things, it'll be a dream for quite some time to come...Followup Messages:
