**The problem is that there are so few posters left nowadays, most gave up because of the constant spam, as I pretty much have done so now. A web board needs a far greater number of regulars and even then it can still become stale.

** Well, the ones who left made a choice.. They could have countered any spam by posting topics of their own...And it's pure speculation when it comes to the number of those who left because of the spam...Some people were unable to deal with any opinions which differed from their own, preferring some Groupthink board ...Perhaps they found one... Some may have been fascinated for a period of time and the fascination wore off.....Who knows for sure if trying a different route would result in bringing new blood to Letterbox...One thing I'm certain of is that what is going on now isn't working to that end...

People still posted (and post) topics of their own but it gets swamped by all the spam which comes from one poster. And then, foolishly, some of us end up trying to engage with that poster..or now just take the piss occassionally.

Also, if you're looking for people to back up your political views maybe you ought to try another web board. You're not going to get what you want ie. people saying "oh murray you're so right and I'm so wrong to have voted for Obama".
