*In a little over a week, I'll be participating in GISHWHES: the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen. On August 11th, a task list will be posted, and teams of 15 from all over the globe (my team is made up of Israelis, Americans scattered across several states, and a few Canadians) will compete to fulfill as many of them as completely and as artistically as possible.
*
*The task list can require some random things. In the past, items have required a person in a full Imperial Stormtrooper costume, the tracking down of one particular pub and proving your presence there, a world leader modeling a brassiere, and an adopted child meeting their biological parent for the first time, among other things.
*
*The idea behind GISHWHES is to make the world a better place, both by simply making the world a bit more interesting, and also by actually going out and doing good deeds, and the name of the game is involvement. There's no way of knowing what will be on the list, but it will certainly involve things that 15 people can't do alone, and dragging friends into the mix is encouraged. So if anyone here is interested in helping, please email me so I can forward you the list when it's released and coordinate with you later on.
*
*One thing in particular that has been a common theme in the past is getting things on broadcast media. If anyone here has a connection with radio or local television who'd be willing to help, please, please let me know. In any case, I'd be more than happy to receive help from anyone on the boards, and can assure you that a fun time is generally had by all when completing these tasks.
*
*Thanks,
*-fish

*Note that a video will auto-play. In that video, at the 0:23 mark, you'll see the children of some friends of mine explaining the Greek economic crisis, an item from last year's contest.

Pretty cool concept! Sounds like a lot of fun, despite the exercise in mind-control and propaganda ;) but seriously, sounds like a lot of fun! Definitely keep us updated when you get the list and all that! Let us know how it's going, if you need help, etc. Would be way more fun to talk about a scavenger hunt than whatever government doom and gloom takeover scenario is being predicted that day.
