It's mob mentality. I've witnessed and experienced it, but I don't understand it. I was in downtown Denver after both Stanley Cup wins and one of the Superbowl wins. I can not understand why a celebration of a sports victory turns into a riotous situation.

For the first Stanley Cup win I was actually working at a bar close to McNichols. It was a triple overtime win, so that allowed for many, many cocktails to flow for those watching the game in the bars. After the final goal was scored, people rushed to the streets and havoc ensued. I avoided any contact with it as I was still working and we closed the doors to our bar and let people inside enjoy the victory without having to deal with the idiots taking advantage of the opportunity to riot.

For the first Broncos Superbowl win, I held a party at my downtown apartment. As soon as the game was over, we jumped in the elevator to get out in the streets to celebrate. Celebration quickly turned to pandemonium and chaos. I'll admit to actually being a small part of that as I did jump through a bonfire that had been lit in the middle of the street, but when I saw the celebration turning ugly I grabbed the people I was with and got out before the true riots began. We were about a block in front of the teargas and back into my building before things got bad.

For the 2001 Stanley Cup win, I was sitting 21 rows off of center ice for Game 7. The energy in that building was palpable and it was an amazing experience. We watched the entire Cup presentation and didn't leave until the very end. As we walked out, I could tell that things were going to get ugly and I didn't want to be in the middle of it, so we made a b-line to PF Chang's. They had just locked their doors, but I was able to sweet talk my way in and we sat back in a booth by the window and watched as tear gas flew and mounted police dealt with idiots rioting just for the sake of rioting.

So, back to your point....
You are correct, white people will riot just for the fun of it. But black people will riot just for the fun of it as well. I'm sure brown people will riot just for the fun of it, too. However, I can't think of any time that yellow people have rioted just for the fun of it. Oh, wait, there are plenty of examples on The Simpsons of yellow people riots...So my point (and I believe yours) stands, all colors, creeds and cartoons can and will riot for fun.
