*ok - so I went out to sit down on the deck again last night - opened the backdoor, turned on the light & there they were - just hanging out on the deck - I saw them - they spotted me - all of us froze in our positions

*stomping twice, yelling & then jumping off the stairs onto the deck - that got 'em going - all except the biggest parent

*that one was showing teeth & began growling - the same growl I heard the other day

*being out numbered 5 to 1 & without a weapon - I turned around and jumped back UP the stairs & ran inside..................

Reclaim your deck..take away anything that resembles food even dog or cat food that may be out there.
Make sure garbage cans are secure so they can't get in them.
Get some stuff called Shake Away... it's a repellent you can use to discourage the raccoons from coming around which won't harm plants, pets or other things. Just spread it all around on the ground around your deck and where ever else needed and see if that helps.
Or call the local animal control office to set up some traps...
And keep in mind raccoons carry rabies and mange too.
