*I recently got a Jeep (cuz mine was totaled in April) that's 'keyless entry' and I fooking hate it and cant wait to get rid of it - I got it on the fly due to necessity and didn't realize there were NO key holes except for the driver door - this is the most 'modern' car I've personally owned and I can't wait to get rid of it - i'm going backwards now - dunno what Im gonna get, but its gonna have very limited 'computer' activity within it. and it WILL have keyholes on ALL The doors and the HATCH

*I cannot believe anyone would buy a NEW car that has this feature - its a scam
*
*what are you going to do if your car battery dies?
*what are you going to do if your keyfaub battery dies?
*
*keyless entry - its just fookin stupid

*of course I understand the insurance aspect of it, but imho, its population control overkill at its finest

*summary: power door locks are ok IF they have keyholes on all doors and i'm in the market for an old good car

Big surprise, you're a luddite as well.

Question, if your battery is dead, why do you need to open anything more than the driver's side door? It's not like you're driving any passengers or cargo anywhere with a dead vehicle. You use the key, open the door, pop the hood and jump start your car. Now depending on the car, you may need power to pop the trunk if someone else doesn't have jumper cables, but many trunk releases are simple mechanical releases that aren't dependent on having power to open. Your Jeep Liberty? You could just climb over the back seat if needed.

How many times since you bought the car has this lack of keyholes caused you any issue whatsoever? This little rant seems to be you just bitching because you're a miserable person that likes to bitch about every single thing in the world that isn't exactly as you want it.

Personally, I've had multiple cars with keyless entry since 1995 and haven't had any real issue. A '96 Audi I had had the keyhole on the trunk on the driver's side door, but I never used either. A '98 Saab had the same...again, not once did I ever have to use either. Same with an '01 Audi, '05 Audi, '09 VW and my current '12 VW. I did have an issue with my current car regarding the key fob not working about 2 months after I bought it. I had been travelling and when I got back to the airport parking lot something had happened and it wouldn't open (it was probably the NWO scanners). Well, as you're bitching about, I quickly noticed a lack of keyholes and started to get pissed off. But, being a rational person I started to look around the vehicle and noticed that on the driver's side handle there was a small gap right next to the vehicle. I checked it, and sure enough it was a simple piece of plastic that popped off and once removed I had the key hole I needed to access the car and then was able to open all the doors with a twist of the key and then started it up and drove home. After replacing a cheap battery the key fob worked fine again and there hasn't been an issue since.

If you're a car person that likes to work on your own vehicle, then there is something to be said about the high-tech computer controls on most new vehicles. But you're bitching about opening the doors? Why aren't you driving a '70 VW bus, 'hippie'? Why do you 'fooking hate' your keyless entry and why is it 'fookin stupid'? And just why don't you type fuck?
