I really believe for a lark The Beatles did in fact plant clues that added up to a story and then 2 to 3 years later some American disc jockey publicized that he was on to these clues and then everybody else went mad. Isn't it time to finally give up the denials and the denial about Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds spelling out LSD? But then again myths have lasted centuries.

So, as a result of the Paul is dead and was replaced by Billy Campbell or Billy Shears or President William McKinley there are stories weaved about John, George and Ritchie, Ringo that is, also dying in the 1960s and having been replaced. Wow.

But, yes, I agree that nationalist Al Capp would have been referring to John having returned his MBE Medal making him not (so) English like the others.

Speaking of which, I agree with George that Ringo was the most English of The Beatles having no Irish ancestry like the others, and that's why Canadian separatists targeted him in 1964. Then again, he was also targeted because he was suspected of being Jewish on account of his hooter.

Also, friends of mine in Liverpool who are in fact friends of people like Klaus Voormann and are involved with Beatle scenes including airports and museums have told me that the folks in Liverpool consider Ringo, "our Ritchie", the true Liverpudlian of the bloody lot, the true Scouser.

One last thing, being Puerto Rican I was overjoyced to find out that two or three Beatles landed in San Juan on the way to some vacation island in the Caribbean.
