A year and a day after Elvis first recorded at Sun Studios, his first single was released.. 'That's Alright, Mama/ Blue Moon Of Kentucky' had already made its mark.. An advance copy had been given to popular Memphis deejay Dewey Phillips on July 7... The feedback was phenomenal...The story goes that he Dewey spun that sucker fifteen times on the 7th...
So by the time it actually hit the shelves 60 years ago today, there were some eager hands waiting to take it home and crank that bad boy up...
And the rocket known as Elvis Presley took off for a planet called Legend...Followup Messages:
