"White" refers to a race (let's leave aside the fact that the concept of "races" is biologically meaningless when it comes to people and is more a sociological construct) and "Latino" refers to ethnicity. As a matter of fact, the idea of "white Hispanics" is unremarkable and is even recognized by the US census.

*Yes, I did read it and yes, a person can be Hispanic and white but George Zimmerman is not white. He is of Amerindian and black ancestry as well as white.

Of the three, which is predominant? If someone looked at him, knew his name but nothing else about him, and was told, "is this man Amerindian, black, or white," what do you think that person would answer? What would they answer about Obama under the same conditions?
