******I don't think that citizens like George Zimmerman or anyone else should be able to confront people with lethal force and play cop. There is no justification that I can think of that allows private citizens to confront people if they aren't in imminent danger. What's to stop anyone from confronting anyone else and using lethal force if this is allowed? Tonight's ruling simply allows vigilantes to act more easily. It's not the mark of civilized society to let people take the law into their own hands. Florida has a problem with its juries, its laws or both. I don't see how this can't be a bizarre and dumb decision. I don't know how often this happened in the past but some places in our country still have very strange customs and laws.

****Where do we draw the line between self-defense and aggression though? I don't think Zimmerman was merely defending himself.

**I don't have reasonable doubt that he acted recklessly.

**If I confront someone in a criminal act and need to defend myself as a result, I bear some responsibility too. People should also be aware of situations in which violence may arise and not seek it out. The potential to use lethal force is a huge responsibility and can't be taken lightly. It must only be used as a last resort, in my opinion. Zimmerman did have the other option of not even getting close to him. He bears at least some responsibility for what happened next too.

So if someone is walking down the street carrying a concealed firearm, your dog runs out to greet said person, he thinks your dog is going to attack, shoots your dog. You see this, go running towards the guy screaming cos he just shot your dog and he thinks you're going to attack him and he shoots you as well it's not a crime? Interesting take on what you consider criminal.Followup Messages:
