*You don't live in Arizona then? It's been cold here in England for the last year or two but then 10 years ago we had a real heat wave. There are colder/wetter years on record though, going way back. eg, in the early 60s there was a severe winter (severe by UK standards). It's influenced by the North Atlantic Drift.

===The highest recorded temperature on earth was in Death Valley in 1913 at 134 degrees F. Here it is 100 years later and records are being tied and broken. Is this a progressive cyclical pattern? We still have all of July and August to go.
We have recently had near record lows at night here in parts of the Central Plains.
