*Song just popped into my head. The line "you just want to be on the side that's winning" It wasn't directed at spiggy but at all of us. We want to be on the side that's winning to the point we make enemies of each other. it WAS NOT meant as my feelings about spiggy. I agree with what you say that your convictions have to outweigh all else. We shouldn't compromise ourselves for the sake of others. Respect for the value of human life could be the common ground but it's a war being fought on so many fronts.

It's not always about wining as if it's a mere contest..
I don't stand up for what I believe in here because my goal is to win arguments for the sake of winning arguments...... I detest the idea of contest being the main motivation...
I have said from Day One that I believe we can find common ground despite out differences if we make the effort...I have said I will not rule anyone completely out because their political views and mine do not mesh perfectly...That's exactly why I bring up the arts and other matters on a regular basis...I'm saying "Here's where we can find alignment if you're willing." I consider that more of an achievement than some phony deal based on your willingness to shut up about certain things...
Some make the effort and some do not...
But I keep trying because I don't believe stifling who you are all the time is the answer...Followup Messages:
