*You don't, actually. You just need to provide tax information, which includes things like social security number or equivalent for green card holders. Unless you're proposing putting a tax on voting, it's not necessary, particularly considering known cases of fraud due to misidentification are about nil. Other forms of fraud, including voter roll purges, gerrymandering, and intentionally poor resource allocation for certain demographic areas, however, are widespread and have been known to swing votes.
