***** A court has ruled in favor of a 6-year old transgender after the child was barred from using the girls' restroom...

*****My questions are these: When it's time for Junior High phys ed and showers are part of that, should the girls be forced to shower with someone who has all the outward appearances of a girl but has a schlong hanging out? Should their discomfort be completely discounted? Should they have the option of choosing not to shower under those circumstances without any fear of being thought of as haters? ...

****What is "transgender"? It's a term that expresses a persons feelings about themself. Period. What are the facts of this case?
****Regardless how the transgender person regards himself he is still genetically and physically a male and thus social rules and customs apply. The person in question has chosen to be an exception on a personal level only. I know this sounds unfeeling but I've been there, done that and learned it as the truth of the matter in my experience. The only fair solution is to include coed facilities or single use facilities. That is fair to everyone. A hater is someone who abuses the other person mentally or physically and claiming ones' right to privacy is not abusive of anyone else in and of itself.

**** I'll be honest and confess that I really was expecting an entirely different kind of answer from you...I though you might take the "Deal with it , bitches" route as you have been quite outspoken on LGBT issues over the years...

**Just speaking from experience. I still have feelings distinctly on a feminine side but I realize it's my idea what feminine means to me and that's just the way it is. So it's a wonderful and beautiful part of the totality of me. Everyone is entitled to see themself in the way that makes them feel that way about themself. Wouldn't you agree? The painful part is that deep inside I realize that very, very few people accept it as reality.
**Well meaning folks would say "it's ok" "so long as you're happy" and stuff like that? Can you see how much that would hurt? But thinking that others would understand something so deeply personal in the same deeply personal way I understand and feel it is asking more than I should expect of people in general. They just don't relate the same way. It's part of what's special about it if you ask me but sometimes painful and hard. So...the choice becomes mine and mine alone. These days I just let it go.
**I'll be honest, when I see a rugged manly looking guy all dressed and made up it looks silly to me. I don't ridicule or anything it just offends my own sensibilities(I guess that's kind of narcissistic really) If you have girl everything going on even if not in the biological equipment section then that dress and makeup might look becoming. On a man it looks silly.
**I do feel, however, if a person has undergone SRS they should socially be considered the gender they have chosen. It doesn't change your Y to an X but it's a strong enough statement as far as I'm concerned.

*But according to civil rights enthusiasts you should be allowed to shower with the ladies even though you've still got a dick.
*
I think that would be imposing. If the ladies were all agreeable then there you go. If not then why on Earth would you WANT to impose?
