******Bobby commented to Tony about how suddenly and without sound death can happen in their lives as gangsters: "You probably don't even hear it when it happens, right?"

******RIP James Gandolfini. Hope you didn't even see the guy in the Member's Only jacket!

****It is... 51 is much too young... And by all accounts, a really nice guy in real life...

****He did a great job as Tony but I couldn't really stomach the show... I have a problem with lovable killer characters just as I would with lovable rapists and lovable terrorists... I couldn't stomach "Breaking Bad" for similar reasons...

***Funny, I never saw him as a lovable character. I don't think he was supposed to be. He was charming and was able to manipulate people for his own desires but never really lovable. He had a soft side that we saw often, but deep down you knew at any moment his psychopathic tendencies would unleash and he could kill you in cold blood with no regrets.

**Absolutely. I didn't think the character was loveable. He wasn't a one dimensional bad guy, it would have failed to sustain much interest if he was (for me, anyway).

** I had seen
*"America's most lovable mobster" used in a couple of articles on Gandolfini and it didn't sit well...

* His performance is certainly worthy of praise but the character? Hardly...

The was quite a lot of humour in The Sopranos, which may have made some people mistakenly think the characters were in some way loveable.
