**Do you have a local Cooperative Extension in your area? They may have some good hints on how to get started on both things. I once took a very cool soap making course through them.

Maybe there are some online forums too with others' experiences. I would love to hear how you progress. We live in a city so I guess zoning and such would not allow either hens or bees in our yard!! Maybe we will move to a mre rural place down the road.
