The Bevis Frond-White Numbers
I have expressed my admiration for the Bevis Frond more than once here...Their new release. 'White Numbers' makes my praise more valid than ever...This 2-CD set is easily their finest work since 2000's 'Valedictory Songs'... Nick Saloman's uncanny knack for combining hard psych, power pop, and acoustic balladry is in full bloom on this album...Standout tracks include "Opthalmic Microdots", the gorgeous acoustic gem "She's Just Like You", "Tree Line". "White Numbers", "More Chalk", and "I'm The Only One"...The very last track on Disc Two takes us right into the heart of guitar freakout territory with an instrumental jam lasting no less than 42 minutes...
This may wind up as the best of 2013...
