** On this day in 1966, the hodgepodge lp known as 'Yesterday And Today' was released in the US...Notorious for its original butcher cover, Y and T gathered tracks form UK lps which had not yet been released in the States...Capitol jumped the gun by rush releasing 3 tracks recorded for the next full-fledged offering 'Revolver' and the US version suffered greatly as a result... I wish they had left 'And Your Bird Can Sing' and
*I'm Only Sleeping' for the US Revolver... Why could they not have included 'Rain' and 'Paperback Writer' instead? Those two tracks didn't see release on a US lp until almost four years later... I tend to believe "What Goes On' was more deserving of such a fate..
*
*
* So the US Revolver features 5 McCartney offerings and only 2 by Lennon..
**George even outnumbers John on the US version with his three tracks...
**
**'Yesterday And Today' sounds like a hodgepodge instead of a cohesive album...
**
**
** But it is there and there it is...And it made its debut on June 15. 1966...

That was one of my of my favorite albums when I was a kid.I didn't know about British releases at the time ('72 or '73) and I liked the collection.I'm sure there are other Bagists my age or older who feel the same way.If I listen to it now I don't know how I'll like it.I think I'll give it a spin later.I'll post my thoughts on it in a week or two.Peace Love Bagism!!!! DIG IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! //oo\\Followup Messages:
