****Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I heard the Archie Bell song and thought it was an obscurity as I'd never heard of it before..but then found it had been a No.1 in the US.

****I once knew a guy who's dad had written a song that was a Top 20 hit in the US for Lulu (a British artist but the song was not a hit here). He made a lot of money just from that one song.

**I looked it up recently, it was from a period a little later than I thought - 1981. The track was called "I Could Never Miss You More Than I Do". It got to no.18 in the USA. Still, that was quite a good earner in the days when you had to sell a lot of vinyl singles to get in the charts.

Should have read 1981.... I was already in my Top 40 Avoidance mode then though..
I wouldn't be very good on 80s music trivia...
