**Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I heard the Archie Bell song and thought it was an obscurity as I'd never heard of it before..but then found it had been a No.1 in the US.

**I once knew a guy who's dad had written a song that was a Top 20 hit in the US for Lulu (a British artist but the song was not a hit here). He made a lot of money just from that one song.

*The only Lulu song I remember making any US chart noise besides the 'To Sir With Love' Number One was 'Oh Me Oh My'... Was that the tune?



I looked it up recently, it was from a period a little later than I thought - 1981. The track was called "I Could Never Miss You More Than I Do". It got to no.18 in the USA. Still, that was quite a good earner in the days when you had to sell a lot of vinyl singles to get in the charts.
