*(NaturalNews) A new law proposed by the European Commission would make it illegal to "grow, reproduce or trade" any vegetable seeds that have not been "tested, approved and accepted" by a new EU bureaucracy named the "EU Plant Variety Agency."
*
*It's called the Plant Reproductive Material Law, and it attempts to put the government in charge of virtually all plants and seeds. Home gardeners who grow their own plants from non-regulated seeds would be considered criminals under this law.

As per usual dear Mike doesn't have a clue.

He's not even reporting the (current) situation and facts correctly.

He also doesn't seem to have any clue about how EU-regulations come into existence.

Correct is, that many people in the EU are concerned about this new idea (in it's original form), and rightly so btw.

That's why you can be 100% sure that this will never become law without being heavily amended and changed. The first changes are already announced (even Mike noticed that: The draft text of the law, which has already been amended several times due to a huge backlash from gardeners)and the EU commission is already paddling back. EU citizens are still quite attentive and our civil society still works quite well.
