***Those who don't want to arouse suspicion will tell others not to worry.."it's all in your mind." they'll say.. until that one morning when you wake up and things are totally different. Just ask the Germans or Russians. I remember when I lived in the Philippines back in the 70's when Marcos declared Martial Law suddenly..the next day most of the tv and radio channels (that weren't pro-Marcos) were off the air, and the radio broadcasted nothing but names of those who were being sought or rounded up. The sudden change was dramatic. It became a police state virtually overnight..did the people see it coming? most did not or refused to believe it would happen. An edict went out demanding that people bring in their weapons and no questions would be asked and at the end of a two week period they had amassed more weapons from the civilian population than they had for their army at the time. Little to no resistance at all.
***Then the gates closed and the government had complete control.
***
***As long as there are those who are vigilant and know what the signs are, it will be less likely that it will happen here.
***
***Not saying it can't ever happen. It can. But here I don't think people would surrender their guns as easily. The people here know their rights (or should know them) and that would make it very difficult for the government to obtain total control. There would be a large amount of resistance and possibly another civil
***war.

***But to tell people it's basically all in their heads?
***
***NO it's not.

**Other than that your posting doesn't make any sense to me Winston.

*Why do you and Rumor attempt to put a racist tag on anything said against Obama? are you guys trying to pick up GL's slack?
*
*
*First of all, YOU don't live in America ..therefore you have no real sense of what Americans truly feel about their rights and freedoms. When they see things happening that are changing this country into something other than what our forefathers wanted, you question that they would actually take up arms against those who would diminish our freedoms? You think it's "absurd" that people would take up arms against the government if they tried to confiscate weapons and attempt to exercise total control over us? Seriously?
*
*No wonder Hitler took Germany so easily..charismatic speeches, assuring the people that everything is just fine and there's nothing to worry about..
*
*and then what happened?
*
*Save that crap for the funny papers.

Winston, I appreciate your service to our country and I understand why you see some things the way you see them, BUT, you do not represent all of America. I really hate to read these types of replies where you feel that you are representative of the entire nation.
I am an American. I was born and bred here. I was a Cub Scout, and went on to Eagle Scout. I learned to shoot when I was 8, and was a marksman at 10. I took down butterflies with my air rifle and I took down pigeons with my .22. I have never felt that my rights to shoot a gun have been jeopardized by my government. I've related stories about shooting with my brother-in-law in Oklahoma....whatever gun you want to shoot right now you can. The only thing I have seen is that ammunition has been run out of stock because of fear mongering. That's exactly what you're doing right here. You're propagating the idiot element.
I actually hope for some sort of revolution. I know that I'll be good, you?Followup Messages:
