Born To Rebel

Posted by **The Duke** on May 7, 2013 at 12:55:51 AM:

Hit the books very young. Learn higher thinking and had an advanced vocabulary early on.
Tested out consistently very, very high. They said I was amazingly intelligent.
So I dropped out of school and hit the streets.
Refused to talk street talk. Refused to walk the walk.
I'm going to skip over my years as a Marine. Way too complex to explain briefly.
Broke a lot of laws, did a lot of time.
Locked up, I refused to institutionalize.
Kind hearted inmates would try to help me."If you want to fit in, you don't get a 'plate' you call it a tray."
Why would I want to fit in with a bunch of recidivist convicts?
You eat your tray. I'll eat my plate. I'm just passing through.
I did learn to talk normal to people. Hate watching eyes glaze over when I speak as I think.
Amazing how few brain cells normal people exercise.
Been out of my cage five years this month. For half of that I've been king of my world.but the road to success has destroyed my body.
A very rugged trail indeed.
I ache continuously. I should have another twenty, thirty years..
Sometimes remaining conscious is is a herculean effort. There is neurological da
Lmage that no one can diagnose. 35 years of tobacco is finally taking it's toll ..m. just let me see my daughters through college, that's all I want.
Then i''ll happily move on.
Well, after I finish up with my pity party.
