******at home?

******Our family dog died a little over two years ago after spending 17 years with us. Loved that animal.
******
******This past weekend on a whim, as I was driving past, I stopped at a place called Little Shelter & nearly came home with a 6 year old Cocker Spaniel. Didn't know how he & Tripod (my daughter's 3 legged cat) would get along.
******
******Took a lot to walk away from that dog.
******
******So.
******Any of you own rescued pets & how did it work out for you?
*****
*****Was it this little fella?....Oreo.....bet it was you who adopted him.....
*****
*****I like the looks of Dino
*****
*****I've got a shelter cat....was my nieces initially, but he was a bit too rambunctious for her other rescue cat.....Maximus Nautinus.....cause he's naughty to the max....but I love him dearly and he's doing great guns.....
*****
*****Do hope it was you who got Oreo, says he'll be ok with cats....

****yeah - it was
****Oreo - but I didn't take him. Wasn't so much leery of how he would react with Tripod - as much as I was worried about Tripod would react to him....

***Dorito looks so much like out oldest that it's downright scary...
***
***
***I see that someone is taking him home... *
**
**was also interested in Buddah - beautiful dog - purebred Akita - very friendly but a little too big
**
**
*
*Yeah, he is a handsome fellow...

great thing about this shelter.......
They neuter all dogs & cats & they are micro chipped so that they can be tracked & recovered if they stray - no charge. Prices are VERY reasonable as well.
$150 for pups under 1 year
$125 for dogs over one year old without regard to their breed - purebred & mixed dogs the same price
basically a donation
A few months ago I had seen an ad for Cockers & they were asking north of $650 for them.
There is no charge for cats - they have around 200 of them in residence. Not a cat person myself.
As someone else said - there are perfectly fine animals at the shelters. Makes sense to me to go there first.Followup Messages:
