* Today I listened to the first Disc of the Lennon Anthology for the first time in quite a while. The most interesting thing about disc one are the outtakes from Plastic Ono Band. For making a pretty dark album John actually sounded cheerful when you hear the studio chatter. Perhaps he was still enjoying the creative process even if the songs were deep. The remastering for the Anthology was very well done. I could be wrong but I believe it came out around 99 or 00 and if you crank the sound up you practically feel like you're in the studio listening to John and the others performing.

what i love about disk #1 is Lennon's vocals - they are raw and incredible - also love 'Baby please don't go'
